United for a Healthy Ocean
Together, we stand for what we believe in: a healthy and resilient ocean.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) serves and protects the public through weather forecasting, and managing our ocean, coasts, and Great Lakes.
Funding our government must be the result of bipartisan negotiations and compromise. Instead, Republicans are holding the process hostage by pushing a Continuing Resolution (CR) that locks in an 11% cut to NOAA. These cuts are already undermining hurricane forecasting, fisheries management, and coastal restoration efforts.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration is using the shutdown as an excuse to prepare even more mass layoffs at the agencies that protect our safety, health, and environment. The administration’s ongoing mass firings and Reductions-in-Force (RIFs) have already cost agencies thousands of years of expertise, putting life-saving services in jeopardy.
By refusing to come to the table, Republicans and the Trump administration are forcing a government shutdown that will put our ocean, coasts, and communities at risk. From hurricane forecasts to oil spill prevention, the agencies that protect our lives and livelihoods can’t do their jobs. A shutdown makes families less safe, threatens local economies that depend on fishing and tourism, and gives polluters a free pass with less oversight and accountability.
At the end of the day, a shutdown doesn’t just close agency offices in Washington; it puts families, workers, and coastal communities directly in harm’s way. By holding funding hostage, Republicans and the Trump administration are putting lives and livelihoods at risk while giving polluters a free pass.
Who We Are
We are a community of ocean lovers working together to advance ocean conservation and climate justice.
What We Do
We have been building bridges, breaking down silos, and growing narrative power since 2009, all in the name of making ocean conservation a safe and welcoming space for anyone who wants to participate in our democratic process and build relationships with advocates around the country.
Why It Matters
We are stronger when we unite and together, we can create a bigger wave of change that can advance ocean conservation.

Policy is personal and so is our approach. We are building the ocean conservation and climate justice movement one advocate at a time by meeting people where they are at and building trust, relationships, and knowledge together.
