say no to deep sea mining … again

The Trump Administration cannot say no to extracting anything and everything from the ocean.

They are on track to lease of millions of acres of seabed in American Samoa and the Northern Mariana Islands this fall, and are only allowing one government official, the Governor, to submit public comment prior to the lease sales. This is unacceptable and undemocratic.

We need to say NO to this speculative activity that benefits companies and not communities.

We need to show decision makers, media, and the globe that we do not want this to happen.

So take action with us.

  1. Sign this petition to add your name to our growing chorus against deep sea mining in the U.S. territories.

  2. Until Saturday August 22nd, we can comment on whether the government should lease almost 3,000 miles of our public seabed off Virginia’s coastline because one single company has asked them to.

(I think we know the answer … no).

So stand up for the ocean today. And thank you!!
